About the event

Hand make pots in clay with Mary & Nao! In a guided three hour class with provided materials and tools, we will make three unique pots suitable for 'kusamono'; these are also known as 'shita kusa' when displayed with bonsai. In the following weeks after the workshop, we will dry, then prepare and fire the work in our home studio (initial bisque fire, then final glaze fire). Finished pottery are suitable for creating kusamono of your own, or bring your finished and fired pots back to the Milwaukie Center to arrange kusamono alongside Young Choe the weekend of April 4th-5th **(mark it on your calendar! BSOP announcement to come soon).

Basic Details for the class: Bring an apron and a dish towel or clean rag for wiping your hands on. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

Optional: Bring any tools or interesting textures. More details to come closer to…
